Meet Aniya, one of my Class of 2021 Ivy League Senior Reps. Aniya is one of the first teens I worked with when I moved to Fort Bliss. Fun fact: I have actually been photographing her since she was in the 10th grade. So, I’m super excited to have photographed her senior session.

Aniya is a senior at Americas High School. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and creating videos. Oh yeah, Aniya is actually a content creator and has a YouTube channel. Let’s get into her session and all the details that went into making this amazing shoot happen.

The early Spring weather was perfect for Aniya’s 90s and early 2000s fashion trends session wardrobe. This is so nostalgic for me since I grew up in the 90s and 2000s. Downtown El Paso was the perfect location to cater to the style and vibes that she was going for.

Because YouTube is such a big apart of her life we made sure to implement it into her senior session. We did a brief segment with her camera and laptop outside of a Starbucks to give an influencer vibe. What was so cool is that she actually was vlogging her session and it is on her channel. It was important to Aniya that she paid tribute to her late grandmother by incorporating playing cards into her session. This added a unique and sentimental component to her session.

Aniya’s favorite memory from high school so far is going to high school football games with her friends and going to eat at Cookout afterwards. After high school Aniya plans to attend my Alma Mater, the illustrious North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (oh yeah, we’re both NC natives!!) where she plans to major in Multimedia Journalism Mass Communications. The advice she would like to leave for future seniors is, “Try not to let college applications stress you out and participate in everything you did not do in your previous years of high school.”
