Hi friends! Welcome to LaKendra Franklin Photography’s space on the internet. I’m LaKendra, your senior and brand photographer, and I’m grateful you’ve stopped by to learn a little about me. So here it goes.

Almost a decade ago I married my best friend. He became a soldier who continues to climb in rank, and I became a photographer who is growing to be one of Killeen’s most sought after portrait experiences. We’re able to accomplish this while raising three handsome princes, all under the age of 10!
I’m originally from North Carolina, but learned to pick up and go once my husband joined the US Army. Today, home is Killeen, tomorrow who’s to say? When I became a photographer seven years ago I had no idea how beneficial the career would be to our frequent relocations.

Photography Journey
Growing up, I was always the kid with the camera. Disposable, Polaroid, digital, you name it. It became so natural that I photographed a family members wedding well before I considered photos to be a career option. She could have hired a professional, but I like to think she saw something in me that I had yet to see.
Initially, I wanted to be an attorney. But, studying law in undergrad/grad and being accepted into my top choice for law school just wasn’t enough for me. As a result, in 2016, I changed my focus (pun intended) and picked up a camera.
I began photographing any and everything, but portraits stole my heart. In 2018, I decided to specialize in high school seniors. In 2019, I officially opened La’Kendra Franklin PhotoDeciding to focus solely on senior portraits has come with its share of accolades. Ive received awards and had my work featured in several print and online publications, making me a nationally featured and published senior photographer. So, when I say that seniors are my jam, I mean that they are my J-A-M!
This isn’t just great for me. This is good news for everyone that works with me, because they can do so knowing they have an expert in this field working on their behalf! I’m always honored when I’m considered to document the youthful milestone of a high school senior or the wonderful accomplishments of a business owner. I love having a career where I can empower teens, and business owners, to feel like the best version of themselves.
